Postgres 18 is generally available on Heroku Postgres

We previously released Postgres 18 beta on Heroku Postgres. Today, Postgres 18 is generally available on Heroku. New databases default to Postgres 18.

Upgrade to Postgres 18 on Heroku Postgres

With the release of Postgres 18, we’re deprecating Postgres 15 per our policy. We urge you to upgrade your databases to the latest version as soon as possible.

For Standard-tier and higher databases, test the upgrade with the dry run method or with the fork method. For Essential-tier databases, test the upgrade with the copy method.
