Heroku PostgreSQL version support policy - Update

Change effective on 21 December 2022

We are updating our Heroku PostgreSQL version support policy to maintain a high level of service for our PostgreSQL fleet. We require customers to upgrade the PostgreSQL version roughly once every three years as we deprecate older versions. We are specifying possible actions to be taken against non-compliant databases: If the database instance is on deprecated version, it will be subject to forced upgrade attempts, database access revocations, and database deletion for non-compliance.

Version deprecation announcements are made on the Changelog.
