Python 3.9.8 is now available

Change effective on 08 November 2021

  • Python 3.9.8 is now available.
  • The default Python version for new apps is now Python 3.9.8 (previously 3.9.7).

Of note, the build of this version now uses the revised compiler options first introduced with the Python 3.10.0 release on Heroku. This includes enabling PGO, which should improve application performance.
