Automatic HTTPS support for <appname>.herokuapp.com domains in Private Spaces
Change effective on 22 October 2018
Starting today, we’re gradually rolling out a change that adds valid HTTPS certificates for the default <appname>.herokuapp.com for apps created in Private Spaces. The certificate is typically available a couple of minutes after app creation. When apps are renamed, an updated cert is similarly available a couple of minutes after the rename.
If a certificate for custom domains are added to the app (either by manual upload or because ACM is enabled), then the certificate for <appname>.herokuapp.com is removed.
If the roll out is successful, all newly created Private Space apps will have HTTPS certificates for <appname>.herokuapp.com by October 26th. Existing Private Space apps will have certs backfilled at a later time.
