Python 3.7.13, 3.8.13, 3.9.11 and 3.10.3 are now available

Change effective on 16 March 2022

  • Python 3.7.13, 3.8.13, 3.9.11 and 3.10.3 are now available.
  • The default Python version for new apps is now Python 3.9.11 (previously 3.9.10).

Of note, the build of Python 3.8.13 now uses the revised compiler options first introduced with the Python 3.10.0 release on Heroku, then in Python 3.9 as of the 3.9.8 release. This includes enabling PGO, which should improve application performance.
