SSL Endpoints Add-On has reached End of Life
Change effective on 18 October 2021
The Heroku SSL Endpoints add-on is deprecated and will be retired as of today: October 18, 2021. As part of the End of Life process, there will be service degradations beginning next week as the add-on is removed from the Heroku Ecosystem.
If your app(s)’ domains are still configured to use the SSL Endpoints DNS target after this week, requests to the app(s) will begin to fail. You may experience DNS issues that could result in H31 Errors and downtime for your app.
Heroku’s updated SSL solution, Heroku SSL, replaces the SSL Endpoints add-on. Heroku SSL uses the most current generation of infrastructure, and is offered as part of the paid Heroku plans instead of as an add-on.
If you are already on a paid plan, please reference this knowledge base article for instructions on how to migrate and restore connectivity to your app.*
Please note that billing for SSL Endpoints will continue until you have fully deprovisioned the add-on through the steps in the knowledge base article above or until Heroku deprovisions the add-on through a rolling process beginning next week, whichever occurs first.
