January 2018 PHP runtimes and extensions update

Change effective on 04 January 2018

The following new runtime versions are now available for PHP applications:

  • PHP 5.6.33
  • PHP 7.0.27
  • PHP 7.1.13
  • PHP 7.2.1

PHP version 7.0.27 was the last regular release for PHP 7.0; the version series will now only receive security updates from the upstream vendor and be fully end-of-life at the end of 2018. Customers are advised to upgrade to the latest release series of PHP (7.2).

The following PHP extensions have been added or updated:

  • ext-apcu, version 5.1.9
  • ext-blackfire, version 1.18.0, for PHP 7.2
  • ext-mongodb, version 1.3.4
  • ext-phalcon, version 3.3.0
  • ext-redis, version 3.1.6

The librdkafka library used by ext-rdkafka has been updated to version 0.11.3.

The version of Composer that is used during builds and available at runtime is now 1.6.0.
