Grails applications now launch with Tomcat by default

Change effective on 13 June 2013

Grails apps will now use webapp-runner to launch with Tomcat instead of using jetty-runner to launch with Jetty by default. If you have an existing app that uses Jetty it will continue to do so. You can also specify Jetty to be used for your app.
