Improved support for git-based dependencies in Node.js apps

Change effective on 19 December 2013

Node.js 0.10.24 was released today, bundling with it an updated npm client that, among many things, now updates git URL dependencies on npm install.

Thanks to the new node buildpack and our semver.io service, new versions of node become available for use on Heroku as soon as they are released on nodejs.org, so if you’re using git-based dependencies in your package.json, you can benefit from this fix today.

For info on setting your app’s node version, see the Dev Center.
