Heroku PostgreSQL 13 deprecation
Change effective on 29 April 2024
Heroku is deprecating support for all databases running PostgreSQL 13. This deprecation is part of our documented version support policy. The end-of-life date is October 29, 2024.
Our schedule for deprecating all PostgreSQL 13 databases is as follows:
- April 29, 2024: We send a deprecation notification to Heroku PostgreSQL 13 database users.
- July 29, 2024: You can’t create Postgres 13 databases after this date. You can still create forks and followers of existing databases.
- September 29, 2024: Forced upgrades on deprecated Postgres 13 databases start.
- October 29, 2024: We start restricting database access and deleting databases for Postgres 13 databases after this end-of-life date.
We urge you to upgrade your databases to the next version as soon as possible so you can test application compatibility and perform the migration on your own schedule.
